It was just over a week ago that I ran my first workshop on Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROM’s), and I’m pleased to say it was a great success.
We had 9 practitioners in the workshop, and in the 4hrs we ran through what PROM’s are, why they are useful, showed how we can integrate PROM’s with our treatment goals, and demonstrated a package of 8 different PROM’s which can be valuable in herbal & naturopathic practice.
Everybody was able to see how they could apply these PROM’s with their patients, and our discussion time included some fascinating patient case studies from participants, which really drove how the real world application.
Feedback was excellent, and also gave me some good ideas for the next workshop.
I was pleasantly surprised by the phenomenal amount of interest in the lead up to this first workshop – including from practitioners in Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, and Western Australia. For these people, and those who just weren’t able to make it to the first workshop, I will be working over the Christmas break to create an online version.
I will be using a mixture of reliable, engaging and easy to use technologies to make this online workshop user friendly and self-paced. In addition to the self-paced components, the last part of the workshop will be a real time internet link up between myself and a group of participants, to enable discussion and application. This will also allow me to schedule this real time component at multiple times to accomodate everybody’s busy schedules.
So keep an eye on this website for more information over the next couple of months.
And thanks to all of my first workshop participants for their interest and their valuable feedback!
